CNC milling
Design and Programming: The process begins with creating a digital design of the part or component using computer-aided design (CAD) software. This design is then converted into a set of instructions or tool paths through computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software. These instructions control the movement of the milling machine’s cutting tools.
Setup: The material, which can be metal, plastic, wood, or other materials, is secured on the milling machine's worktable. The machine is then set up according to the specifications in the program.
Machining: The CNC milling machine uses various cutting tools to remove material from the workpiece according to the programmed instructions. The machine can perform various operations, including drilling, boring, and cutting, with high precision. The cutting tools move along multiple axes (typically three to five), allowing for complex shapes and features.
Finishing: After the milling process is complete, the part may require additional finishing steps, such as sanding, polishing, or heat treatment, to meet the required specifications and surface finish.
